On March 4 local time, the Mooi 240 MW Solar PV Plant in South Africa, undertaken by a consortium formed by Energy China International and CGGC, officially became commercially operational following successful commissioning and acceptance.

Located in Noorport, North Cape Province, the project primarily involves the construction of a 240 MWac photovoltaic farm, along with an auxiliary step-up substation, switchyard, and transmission lines. It stands as the largest single-site solar PV plant delivered by a Chinese enterprise in South Africa.
Once operational, it is expected to generate up to 700 GWh of electricity annually, equivalent to reducing approximately 400,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions each year. The project will effectively help optimize South Africa's energy supply mix, promote green and low-carbon transition, and inject strong green momentum into local energy security.
