1. Consultation

Energy China boasts the world’s largest energy survey and design consulting enterprise and China’s national energy think tank, with 26 professional design institutes and high-end research institutes specializing in clean energy such as hydrogen energy and energy storage worldwide, serving hundreds of major projects in dozens of countries and regions globally with survey and design services. In the past three years, the Company has completed over 1,700 energy and power engineering review, evaluation, and consultation in fields such as large-scale river basin transmission planning and energy conservation and environmental protection planning, with a power generation capacity exceeding 580 million kilowatts. Among them, more than 140 planning and consulting projects have been completed for ASEAN countries such as Laos, Vietnam, and the Philippines.

In recent years, Energy China has raised over USD 50 billion in financing for overseas projects. During the 14th Five-Year Plan period, it aims to accumulate overseas investments of RMB 75 billion (with an ambitious target of RMB 90 billion), covering clean energy, desalination, water management, cement, among others.

1. Global Leading Dam Construction Technologies

Energy China’s dam construction technologies stand at the forefront globally, with achievements including the construction of the world’s tallest arch dam, concrete-faced rockfill dam, and roller-compacted concrete dam. We excel in key technologies such as flood discharge and energy dissipation, earthquake resistance and crack prevention, high slope treatment, diversion and closure construction, underground engineering, and installation of ultra-large power generation units, all of which are internationally leading. Energy China continues to set national and world records in hydropower construction, earning the reputation as “the World’s Number One Brand in Hydropower Construction.”

Global Leading Dam Construction Technologies

Three Gorges Water Hub Project, China: The world’s largest water conservancy project, with a total installed capacity of 22,500MW, has won FIDIC Centennial Award for Excellence in Major Civil Engineering Project. Energy China was contracted with more than 65% of the total workload.

2. Clean and efficient coal combustion technologies

Ultra-supercritical secondary reheat technology, near-zero emission technology, smart construction technology and other technologies help power plants realize zero discharge of wastewater, 100% comprehensive utilization of ash and slag, collaborative and integrated management of multiple pollutants in flue gas, thus making near-zero emission a reality.

With a total installed capacity of 1,350MW, the Project boasts the world’s largest single-capacity new high-efficient, clean, and low-carbon ultra-supercritical coal-fired generating units, which is also a model for green coal-fired thermal power plants across the globe.

3. AC/DC UHV power transmission and transformation technologies

Energy China has fostered a host of cutting-edge technologies, including AC/DC UHV power transmission and transformation technologies for projects under extreme cold and icing conditions, GlL comprehensive pipeline corridors and large-span power transmission technologies, substation (converter station) seismic isolation technologies, and underground substation technologies. Energy China has actively undertaken and completed diverse award-winning projects, represented by the “±800 kV UHV DC Transmission Project” winning the Special Prize of the National Science and Technology Progress Award, “Qinghai-Tibet Networking Project” winning the Second Prize of the National Science and Technology Progress Award, and “Key Technologies of UHV AC Power Transmission, Complete Equipment, and Engineering Application” winning the Special Prize of the National Science and Technology Progress Award.

AC/DC UHV power transmission and transformation technologies

Sutong GlL Comprehensive Pipeline Corridor Project, China
Being the pipeline corridor project with the deepest buried depth (the bottom elevation of the tunnel structure is -74.83 meters) and the highest water pressure in (0.8 MPa) in China, it boasts the highest GlL voltage level, the longest single-phase total length, and the strictest requirements on reliability in the world. The crossing span is 1,790 meters.

Energy China has accumulated rich experience in solar-thermal power generation, photovoltaic power generation, offshore and onshore wind power generation, hydraulic power generation, waste-to-energy, biomass power generation, geothermal power generation, and distributed energy technologies.

The Zhangbei Wind/Photovoltaic/Energy Storage and Transmission Demonstration Project, the world’s largest operational demonstration project of renewable energies integrating wind, solar, energy storage, and power transmission, won 2018 FIDIC Outstanding Project of the Year.

6. Digital Technologies and Information Technologies

Energy China is a pioneer in the industry in adopting the world-class Digital Photographic System (DPS) and Global Positioning System (GPS), fostering the whole life-cycle digital service capacities that cover engineering, procurement, construction, and operation.
