CEEC Signs Contract for Taweelah C Combined Cycle Power Plant Project in Abu Dhabi, UAE

Recently, a consortium comprising China Energy International Group Co., Ltd., CEEC Guangdong Electric Power Design Institute Co., Ltd., and CEEC Guangdong Power Engineering Co., Ltd. signed an EPC contract with the project company established by Saudi Al-Jomaih Energy & Water Company and Singapore’s Sembcorp Industries for the Taweelah C Combined Cycle Power Plant Project in Abu Dhabi, UAE.

Located in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, UAE, the project entails the construction of a gas-fired combined cycle power plant with a net output of 2,600 MW that covers design, equipment manufacturing, material supply, factory testing, transportation, civil works, installation, commissioning, training, acceptance, and warranty maintenance. Commercial operation is planned for early 2029. Abu Dhabi National Energy Company (TAQA) will hold a controlling stake of 60% in the project company as the majority shareholder.

Upon completion, the Taweelah C Combined Cycle Power Plant, a key energy infrastructure project in the UAE, will further enhance Abu Dhabi's power supply capacity, optimize the local energy mix, and provide stable and reliable power support for regional economic and social development.
